Privacy Policy

Chorely is a family chore management app. We care about your privacy and your family's data. This policy explains, in plain English, what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

The short version

• We collect only what we need to run the app.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not share your data with advertisers.
• You can delete your account and all your family's data at any time.

What we collect

Account info. Your email and password when you sign up. Your password is stored in encrypted form by our authentication provider — we cannot see it.

Family info. Your family name, the names you give your kids, their avatars and PIN codes (stored as encrypted hashes, not plain text).

Chore activity. Chores you create, when they were completed, points awarded, rewards earned.

Photos. Proof photos your kids take of completed chores. These are stored privately in cloud storage and only visible to your family.

Device info. When you allow push notifications, we store a device token so we can send notifications about chore approvals, send-backs, and reminders. We do not collect your contacts, location, or browsing history.

How we use it

• To make the app work — sync your chores, photos, and rewards across your family's devices.
• To send push notifications about chore activity (only if you've allowed them).
• To send account-related emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets).

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not profile you. We do not sell it.

Who we share with

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Chorely:

• Supabase — stores your account data, chores, photos, and authentication info.
• Expo — delivers push notifications to your device.
• Apple App Store / RevenueCat — handles subscription payments. Apple processes the actual payment; we do not see your credit card.

These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and cannot use your data for their own purposes.

Kids and family data

Chorely is designed for parents to manage their own children's chores. Kid accounts in Chorely are created and controlled by parents. We do not knowingly collect any data directly from children outside of a parent's family.

If you're a parent and want to remove your child's data, deleting your account removes all your family's data — kids included.

Your rights

You can:

• See your data — it's all in the app.
• Edit or delete any chore, kid, or reward from inside the app.
• Delete your entire account — open Settings → Delete account. This removes all your family's data permanently.
• Email us with any privacy question.

Data retention

We keep your data as long as you have an account with us. When you delete your account, we delete your family's data within 30 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything in this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice before they take effect.
